I want to add that the problem of being unable to focus on longer works is not just in kids. I’m an obsessive reader and have been all my life, and yet recently I’m finding trouble getting through longer books. I’m used to some endorphin payoff every few seconds, so when a minute of exposition goes by my eyes start to wander.

And I only browse on a computer, so when I’m reading I don’t have the internet to hand. It must be far worse for people who always carry the internet in their pockets…
