A really good article on a difficult subject - and I applaud your use of citations.

I do want to note that back in Alexander's time, there was no concept of gay, straight or bi, and no great stigma associated with having sex with, well, anyone. Indeed, many ancient Greeks considered love between men to be the highest form of love.

The only reason people cared about who Alexander was having sex with was that he hadn't produced an heir (as you basically point out).

But this isn't a correction of any type. I just wanted to remind people that there was a time in history when no one really cared what you did between two consenting adults.
