About 10 years ago there was a poll in the UK that claimed to show that people were more prejudiced against redheaded white people than non-whites, which shocked me (and IIRC I had some methological issues), but it is true that social circles in England seem more likely to me to be multi-racial, and in the US, if you run into a multi-racial social group they seem to often be musicians, artists, socialists or some combination of those.
Still, I don't believe that poll. But it's shocking what excuses people find to hate complete strangers.
