Actually, over 70 million people voted for Donald Trump for President.

And Trump is wildly popular amongst Republicans. The idea that Trump's some outlier is bizarre!

I really don't care what the Republican Party or Trump has portrayed anyone as. In fact, the Democrats have endlessly and tirelessly cooperated with Trump, allowing every budget through, allowing his child concentration camps, and putting up basically no fuss at all, but that's not good enough - they have to completely roll over and stop complaining.

Why does anyone rational care what the Republicans portray people as? They are proven liars. They say whatever shit they care to make up for their own evil ends. Would you like a list of 20,000 lies told by Trump?

Republicans have spent four years insulting Democrats in the most base and vile terms and they continue to do so.

They have refused to deal with COVID in order to spite the liberals, and they continue to do so.

Easily a hundred thousand of the COVID deaths so far were unnecessary, and the system continues to deteriorate.

And Republicans have not stopped their endless insults - they simply want everyone else to do so.

Your argument, "You can't hold people morally responsible for the consequences of their votes" is morally and ethically vacuous.

People are responsible for the consequences of their actions, particularly when those actions have such dreadful consequences.

And again, it's not like they're apologizing, or trying to be nice, or trying to meet the rest of America halfway, or cooperating, or doing anything other than being psychopaths.

It's not like they have admitted that putting children in cages and separating them permanently from their parents is wrong; or that maybe COVID exists and isn't just made-up to annoy Donald Trump.

If these are complex people, they should stop acting like ravening beasts and screaming idiots and preventing the adults from doing their jobs.

Honestly, though, if you can see Donald Trump speak for more than a minute and not be disgusted by his ego, can listen to that incoherent word salad and believe it makes sense, and can listen to that pack of self-congratulatory, flimsy and self-contradictory lies and not be disgusted, then you are a simple-minded fool.

By now, the idea that I do anything with "little to no thought" should be an obvious non-started to anyone, I should add.

tl; dr:

If the Republicans want to be treated like humans, stop calling their opponents vote-stealing pederasts for a few days, and see how everyone's mood improves.

OR if the Republicans want to keep screaming vicious lies and hatred at the rest of the world, while actively preventing the US government from functioning during one of the greatest threats to the country ever, and simply don't want to be criticized for this - which is really the take I get from your article - they can just fuck off and die.
