Some years ago I was the top performer on a team with a literally psychopathic, hectoring boss, a man I was warned about before I even started working for him.

When finally I told upper management I was having panic attacks due to the relentless, public harassment by this boss, they hung up and instantly fired me; I had been named employee of the month within the last few weeks.
