I enjoyed the article, but has it ever struck you that as long as the US has two right-wing parties, then the far-right party will continue to dominate, because who really prefers Fascism Lite to plain old Fascism?

"Not the Republicans" has not really been a slogan that has inspired the Democrats to stunning victories or great achievements. The one thing that Democrats touted, the ACA, was undoubtedly an improvement, and yet it was a BandAid™ on a sucking chest wound and still left America with the most expensive healthcare in the world with some of the world outcomes - and it all fell apart the moment COVID-19 hit.

And still, senior Democrats believe that healthcare must be privatized and must be associated with a job.

One day I hope the Democrats will rediscover their progressive roots, and then look out, Republicans. Then maybe I can hope for a bright future for America. Until then, I see only the most gloomy outcomes.
