America has not one, but two original sins on its conscience - the genocide of the native peoples of the Americas, and slavery.

And let's be blunt here - a lot of Americans simply don't think these were wrongful at all, but simply part of the cost of doing business. Certainly there hasn't been any substantial attempt to compensate the victims of these great crimes. "We stopped killing you, mostly, what more do you want?"

As long as people aren't sorry, they'll keep doing it again.

There is a story that God only created a fixed number of souls at the start of time, and now there are more people than souls, which explains all the people with partial souls or no soul at all.

How do you convince a human that other humans have value? I have no idea.
