America is pathological, and yet we had workers in our apartment here in Amsterdam replacing the boiler and none of them wore masks.

The last time I tried to make a stand on those workers wearing masks, it ended up being a humiliating defeat for me. My landlord and my neighbors thought I was a paranoid nutcase.

I chatted to my landlord this time and he said he was going away on holiday that day, last Saturday, "Where are you going for holiday?"

I'm like, ah, we like it in Amsterdam, because I really didn't want to say, "What the fuck are doing, travelling for your third holiday in a year during a pandemic?"
