Are you under the impression that simply telling someone they’re wrong is some sort of rebuttal?
“I, Nicholas Martinez, say you are wrong! This is all you need!”
Let me disabuse you of that notion. Your comment is valueless without explaining why you believe that the person you are talking to is wrong. A rational person looks at your comment and says, “He wants this to be wrong, but can’t come up with an actual reason. No points for him.”
I too found the original article patronizing, superior, and lacking in truth. The idea that poor people would be as happy as rich people if they just spent their leisure time differently is ludicrous, and I can’t imagine how anyone could take it seriously.
