Indeed, now that I am dealing with other people's AI generated code, I feel a lot less worried about AI eating my lunch, because it seems to make beginner programmers less competent, and they don't seem to learn from watching an LLM make mistakes in the same way that we learned in the past from making our own mistakes and then correcting them.
