In particular, we set up this huge unstoppable juggernaut of an economic system that’s grinding our very ecosystem out of existence, and while everyone except perhaps a few billionaires are going under the wheels sooner or later, its first victims will be disproportionately people of color.

Sometimes I feel a horrible evil pride. Maybe other races would have destroyed everything eventually if we weren’t here — I’m starting to believe it’s inevitable in the human condition — but they didn’t: we did.
