As stated, this isn’t so. The literature is chock-full of people who experience cannabis hyperemesis the very first time they consume cannabis — particularly with cannabis consumed orally.

It is cannabis hyperemesis syndrome that affects daily smokers. You do use the full term elsewhere, but it’s important I think to distinguish clearly between the acute and chronic forms.

I might add that having experienced cannabis hyperemesis myself (through edibles, of course), I can’t imagine how anyone would continue to go on after that. I was sick for hours, in wave after wave after wave — and this was a long time ago and I didn’t know about showers being a palliative. It was appalling and I’d pay a lot of money never to have that happen again.
