The decline of e-readers is because a physical book is a better format for readers. I thought initially it was just me that had issues absorbing books I read electronically, but it seems everyone does.
The resurgence of vinyl is because musicians desperately needed something to sell with premium value. Aside from the covers, vinyl is a technically inferior format in every way, and I say this as someone with thousands of beloved LPs. And audiences have shown they'll just steal your pure digital releases.
And the move back to dumb phones is because of the pernicious addictive qualities of smart phones.
