But this is bad. These teenagers and old people are going to have a horrific casualty rate when they come up against tanks and machine guns.
Still, I'm guardedly hopeful for Ukraine. Inexplicably, the feared Russian military laid an egg. I, like most other people, expected the Russian Air Force to destroy the much smaller Ukrainian one within a few tens of hours and then have permanent domination of the air, and yet this did not happen.
I attribute this to the SNAFU Principle (RAW, RIP). Putin actually believed the lies told by the people he was lying to.
Anyway, I'm not looking forward to seeing all these brave civilians sacrificing themselves, but I hope that Russia's attack collapses really soon, and that Putin doesn't press the button.
