But this is not what people actually report.
What is observed is darting lights or a silver spot in the sky, but from these marginal events you build a whole cosmology.
To jump from these fascinating unexplained phenomena to there being some physical mechanical craft belonging to extraterrestrials and silently accelerating at hundreds of g's is simply unjustified.
No massive sonic booms are reported, as would be the case if a physical object accelerated from rest to many times the speed of sound, no matter how streamlined it was.
These elusive little blips in the sky are not a form of "communication" because they are completely unclear.
"I saw some moving lights" is not enough to base this whole complex, fragile story of technological aliens visiting from light years away in space ships.
Let's look at the observations in general.
Both the "hundreds of g’s of acceleration" and the "no sonic booms" observations would surely lead toward a non-material object being observed!
If these observations are of something with zero (or very small) mass, then those observations are what you would expect, in fact.
The two best non-material hypotheses I can think of are these:
1. Some sort of projection device invented by the US military
2. Some sort of natural or intelligent plasma and/or electromagnetic phenomenon
There's considerable evidence that the US already has had a radar projection device for a very long time. A visual light image projection device is not out of the question.
For example, this explains the 2001 Carteret, NJ UFO event, witnessed by dozens of unrelated people including the mayor, and leaving records on commercial radar. The official explanation is that there was no investigation because 9/11 happened a few weeks later, but if it were just a military exercise, all becomes clear.
On the other hand, 2., the plasma/electromagnetic explanation, accounts for similar phenomena have observed for thousands of years - no one's coming to visit us, "they" have always been here.
Or it might be a coherent but probably meaningless phenomenon of plasma like ball lightning appears to be. More data would be needed.
Trillions have been spent on US military technology. - could they have some "bogie projector" that projects false radar and visual images.
I tend to favor that hypothesis as, "Sadly the most realistic and least surprising." 😢
