Twenty years is not a "blink of an eye". If you have a baby at 25, you'll be at least 45 by the time the kid leaves the house. That's a great big chunk of time.

Many, many people become parents without ever thinking it through, and then end up miserable and angry with the child.

My parents were really into being parents, but many of my friends were not so lucky...
