Come on, this is just silly.

I'm very progressive, and yet I don't know Earth, Wind and Fire's material very well *for no particular reason*.

On the other hand, I'll talk your ear off about P-Funk and its associated acts, because I happened to be exposed to that at a formative moment. Or I could go on endlessly about 70s African bands (I'm a particular fan of Franco, and there are a couple of those songs that make me cry almost every time.)

Now, a reasonable argument might be made that I'm an older guy and I really should have found out about EWF, but if you're under 30, you might be as progressive as the day is long and still not know about them.

I would add that I also know some very decent and compassionate people who really have no relationship to music at all. Yes, this baffles me, but this doesn't make them bad humans.

Still, your article will propel me to listen to EWF, if only to be able to play the game of "I know this one!"
