Fascinating article about a lot of interesting subjects!

It’s always strange to me that wise, compassionate people like Trungpa or Alan Watts can kill themselves with alcohol, a decidedly non-spiritual drug.

I don’t think of the Maharishi as particularly crazy, but I lost track of him after I drifted away from TM (in the 1970s, now I’m dating myself). I was very sad that Doug Henning chose TM over medical treatment for his cancer and died, though, so I was aware that there were problems between TM and reality.
