First, I should make it clear that “bullshit” referred not to your excellent article, but to the conclusion of the report!

Second — well, this is logical consequences of an industry that keeps upping the pressure on its workers. When I was young, pilot was a high status profession where pilots were compensated enough to be very comfortable and were given enough power and leeway to make sure that safety was the ultimate, top criterion.

Now regional carriers, at least in the US, pay so badly that a bus driver often makes more money. Job security is gone; profits dominate safety; stress is very high.

And overall in society we have an epic of psychopathy and sociopathy, for complex reasons.

And so it’s logical, if horrible, consequences that a few pilots decide to go out in a big way.
