Funny how this argument is nearly always used to protect Fascists.

The idea that America doesn't have enough free speech! The idea that the terrible position America is in now would have been better if there were more free speech.

The whole reason that America is in the bad state it is now is that people venerate free speech, whether or not it is true, whether or not it is hostile to others, whether or not it is paid speech, whether or not it's speech being used to destroy America.

Americans seem unable to distinguish between deliberate lies, made up out of someone's head in a second, and then systematically spread by media outlets dedicated to pushing a fake view of the world, and careful truths, researched by actual experts over years, and carefully documented.

In fact, I would say that the first form of free speech is far more popular. And as I write this, people are literally dying because of it.

The First Amendment is critically broken and it's taking your country down. Fetishizing the 200 year old First Amendment over the well-being of your own citizens is a terrible idea.
