Gah, I hate absolutely everything about this.
First, we don't need to turn the planet into more burgers. We are destroying the planet with our obsession with meat and consumer goods.
Second, I completely detest the idea that having skill in a specific field or building a business is worthless - all you need is "views". This means that some person who is a brilliant cook, or shoemaker, or painter, or anything, but is ugly or doesn't speak well or has a funny accent is permanently out of luck.
Third, using the term "social justice" is an obscenity here. This guy's a white, mainstream Christian, an outspoken homophobe https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2018/05/youtubes-biggest-philanthropist-has-a-history-of-homophobic-comments/561248/ who's friends with at least one anti-semite , "PewDiePie". As an evangelical white Christian kid, it's almost certain that "MrBeast" is completely against social justice.
And what does this whole plan have to do with "social justice"? Nothing. Zero. I see zero women, zero people of color, zero LGBTQ+ people, zero disabled people in this mix.
No claps. I hope I live to see this business collapse. However, this kid will definitely live to see the consequences of the world's obsession with consuming and producing as much as possible. I wish I could believe he'd finally get a clue, but I doubt it.
