Twelve years ago the Democrats had control of everything, and they bickered for a year and produced the ACA — undeniably somewhat less bad than what was there before, but in the same way that a bandaid on a sucking chest wound is better than nothing.

And that was with the supposedly progressive Obama. Yes, we know now that he was absolutely not such a President, but in January 2009 there was at least hope for change, seeming momentum towards change.

But Biden has already made it clear before the election that nothing will essentially change. What hope do we have that this tired, senile and incoherent old man who has been hostile to single-payer for literally generations will suddenly become a champion for fair medical care?
