Gotta disagree with that. I speak six languages, but in the 50 years since I was exposed to music notation, I still can't read it "up to speed" and I make mistakes in the rhythm. (And I'm a good player - I simply haven't had much need for sheet music in the last 40 years or so, and I wasn't that good when I stopped using it.)

On the other hand, I can read out loud texts in Hungarian, a language I know almost nothing of, and people compliment me on my accent - because I took an hour to learn the sounds of the letters and another hour to practice the vowel sounds.
