Hah! I laughed at all of these. To be honest, I never even heard of any of these except “my guy”.

However, “my guy” has also been slang for one’s drug dealer since the 70s, even if no people of color were around.

And yes, I was buying soft drugs in the 70s in Canada from someone we all called “my guy” — a really decent human with a truly excellent taste in music, I might add, but definitely not a person of color.

If I ever get a drug dealer again, I’ll probably refer to him as “my guy” just out of habit, so I hope no one is offended. It seems unlikely — I live in Amsterdam now so I can get soft drugs whenever I like, and these days, everyone seems to be scoring the more exotic stuff on the Internet, no comment whether “everyone” includes “me”.
