Hear, hear!

Many quantities are best thought of on a logarithmic scale if only because of Zipf's Laws.

And our two most powerful senses, hearing and sight, also interpret the world logarithmically, which is why our primary measurement scales are things like bels (more commonly seen as the derived unit decibels) and f-stops, which is a binary logarithmic unit, each stop being a multiple of 2.
