Hear, hear. I was also surprised to be honest, for much the reasons you outlined (I really didn't know anything much about Charles II though).

It might just be how old he is. He's been Charles so long now it would be hard to switch.

I was kind-of expecting George IV, after his grandfather who has worn well in the British memory, but really, I've given up on the royal family as ineffectual parasites, so it's only academic interest.
