Hello from Amsterdam!

I lived in America for over thirty years. A mediator would never work, because one side would simply refuse to accept their results.

About 30% of Americans believe exactly what they want to be true, and aren't interested in facts.

Remember the US ambassador here a couple of years ago? https://theintercept.com/2018/01/10/dutch-reporters-stun-trumps-ambassador-pressing-admit-lied-no-go-zones/

The reason this lump of excrement could tell a lie even though there was video evidence, and then was surprised when he was called out on his lie, is because in America, this works perfectly well.

I had multiple Americans tell me about the "war zones" in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. When I told them, "I live here, this isn't happening," they just told me I was mistaken.

I have endless other examples, some even more ludicrous than that.

Literally, one third of America has simply decided to believe what they choose to believe and not what is actually true.

Moderators and polite discussions don't work. Why bother spending a couple of hours to research your position to present it to someone who will say, "Fake news", no matter what you say?
