Honestly, it makes me sad.

The left and progressives in America have been beaten down for generations, and have learned to settle for tiny, symbolic victories, or worse, things like "Latinx" which aren't any real victory at all.

It is learned helplessness and is very understandable, but it's an indication of how far to the right America has swung.
