Humans are good at surviving. I think the idea that humans as a species will be wiped out is very unlikely. This civilization’s going out, but humans live in more environments than cockroaches do.

And we might be much better world citizens with only about a billion of them, with far fewer resources to exploit and with the cautionary tale of our times to educate them.
