Humans have acquired herd immunity to very few viruses, if any.

The flu and the common cold are two very good examples of viruses we have failed to get herd immunity to, but smallpox was also around for centuries, was quite deadly, and humans never got any sort of herd immunity to it.

So your plan is to bet the whole country's future on getting really, really lucky. This is just like trying to fix your tax problems by buying lottery tickets.

Care to make a prediction as to the final US death rate (per million)? Will it be greater or less than 1000?
