I agree with every word you wrote.
Now let me confess my baser emotions - I haven't enjoyed a political story so much in years.
No, I didn't like seeing a person get shot and killed, and I was upset - until I saw her Twitter feed, one exhortation to violence after another. I still hate violence, but now I see it as logical consequences.
But seeing all these louts run ragged through the halls humiliating themselves and the Republicans, and then watching all the Fascist tools, none the sharpest in the box to start with, trying to condemn this while still justifying themselves... it was priceless!

On a more sombre note, this news obscured the fact of two consecutive record COVID death days in the United States.
Four died of misadventure in the capitol. Four thousand died horribly of an ugly disease. Most of them were old - but I hope to be an old person myself someday (fairly soon, sigh). As an asthmatic, I'm familiar with not being able to breathe. I do not recommend it to anyone.
A quick shoutout to my friends who died or vanished during the pandemic: Jac, Larry, Mangie, Mielan. (It's a tribute to how screwed up America is that I'm really not sure what happened to three of them, and conceivably they are still alive, though I'm losing hope.)
