I agree with everything you say, except this.
Look at Noam Chomsky. He has a simply astonishing prediction rate. His comments on the Iraq War before it started were bang on, for example.
And yet he is still a completely marginal figure, widely considered a joke amongst almost everyone except radicals.
In fact, every time I quoted him to moderates when I lived in America, I got the same response. “Chomsky? You mean the anti-semite?”
Of course, asking why they felt this Jew hates Jews got responses like, “Everyone knows this.”
