I agree with pretty well everything you wrote.

But still, we have a couple of months of food in our pantry. We eat through it, of course.

I've been doing this for years, when I lived in NYC. Everyone felt I was eccentric. But then 9/11 happened, and I had food for my friends. Sandy happened, and ditto. (I would have had food for the blackout, but at the time I had an idiot roommate who would eat my food and not replace it. So I went hungry.)

Once it all collapses, I expect to die. I don't have guns or idiot shit like that. I live in a city, Amsterdam, and we don't grow food in our apartment.

But I expect before it collapses, there will be... interruptions, and that food will help.
