I am finally in a company which has good stand-ups!

We talk for one or two minutes about things that need to be done, only things that other people might be interested in, and then it just degrades into personal chat and fun.

During the pandemic, this was a significant portion of my social life.

And I don't think any of us ever felt that the stand-up was in any way essential. We have Slack, and most things are done on-the-fly there. But having 15 minutes to hang out each day has continued to be fun.
