I was flying, as a child, during the peak on the left, and no one thought anything of it.

I do agree with your overall claims, though. Our technology has become mature, and that means that growth has plateaued, and then with a background of exponentially increasing fossil fuel use and nothing to replace it, our time on this plateau will be very limited.

This time will be considered the last good time in history for a very long time to come. Yes, even including the pandemic. I'm trying to savor the last few drops of civilization, while not wasting resources and while arguing against catastrophe, which is the best I can do I suppose.
