I suppose nuclear winter is not as bad as the climate catastrophe probably will be. Our ecosystem would mostly recover from nuclear winter in centuries. If we shoot the moon and burn most of the fossil fuels, which still seems the most likely possibility, then that will change our planet for hundreds of thousands of years.
