I can name one: Reaper over Logic Pro, and particularly over Ableton Live.

Reaper is just $70, but more, you can use it indefinitely and not pay, there's just a nag screen.

This means you can put your whole show on a thumbdrive and if your computer catches fire, just run it on a loaner machine.

But that's the least of it. It is by far the most configurable and controllable DAW, but it's also the best for instrumentalists (IMHO). Their technique for handling multiple takes on the same track is so good that I'm shocked no other DAW has stolen it, but then I don't think the rest of them care that much about instrumentalists.

More, there is a huge ecosystem of expansions, centered around the monumental SWS system, and they're all free, free, free.

Unfortunately, I moved away from New York City so I really have little outlet for my music these days, so I don't make much use of it now. A pity...
