I didn't even know this had a name.

I learned "the dap" at some point when I was a musician in the 80s, and my hands just do it instinctively. But I haven't shaken hands with anyone in any way for over a year now.

I also do it without the fist bump shown in the animation. I note that Bernie Sanders does it the same way - he probably learned it a long time ago. I do do fist bumps with people, but never the combo.

I've always liked this gesture. Now I live in Amsterdam so it's my belief I might never get to do this again. Makes me sad, but at least I have a name for what I have lost.
