I didn’t just “state” the deaths were unnecessary — I provided a link to a carefully reasoned article by respected statisticians in a journal of statistics proving this. I am quite sure you did not read that as it addresses most of what you say.
Here it is again: https://www.statnews.com/2020/06/19/faster-response-prevented-most-us-covid-19-deaths/
As somewith with a mathematics degree and considerable experience in statistics, I did have to laugh when you explained “per capita” to me. Yes, the United States is today has the ninth highest death rate — but in America the disease is growing exponentially, whereas it is under control elsewhere.
For example, Italy has a higher death rate. Out of its 60 million people, 174 came down with COVID yesterday. The US has five times Italy’s population, but it had 40,540 new cases — 232 times as much, or over 35 times as much “per capita”. The UK isn’t doing as well but their new case rate “per capita” is only about one-tenth of the United States.
And I would add that these other countries have leaders who are trying to fight the virus, whereas Trump is very publicly trying to deprive Americans of medical care during a pandemic — source.
