I didn't say it was.
For example, over 50% of the world's greenhouse gasses are produced by the 10% wealthiest humans, and the 50% poorest humans produce only about 10% of them.
However, humans are constantly getting wealthier and consuming more - even the poorest of us.
More, we want to raise this poorest 50% out of the degrading and miserable state they are in. For that to happen, the population needs to stabilize and even decrease.
We need a lot less population and we need a lot less consumption.
I have done my bit for both of those - I have never reproduced, never owned any sort of internal combustion engine, bike everywhere (on a junker that should have gone into the trash years ago, but that's just excessive laziness on my part) and have an entirely plant-based diet. (My wife is just the same except she owned a couple of cars, 15 and 20 years ago...)
By far our biggest climate change contribution is the fossil fuel heating in our rental apartment. At some point we will own our own place and no more fossil fuels.
Less population and less consumption is the only solution. In fact, what will happen is that the population will continue to grow, albeit at a decreasing rate, until there is a collapse, because we are in a population overshoot.
