I don't have anything to add to this. There was a strong article here on Medium pointing out that all the components of renewables have to be mined for using diesel and this won't change for decades, if ever, but what's the point? It simply adds to what you say.
I think I already told you that one of my few consolations is that I now believe that this wasn't some horrible accident, but was completely inevitable - we would have consumed our resources obsessively until they were gone no matter what details happened in history.
I know it's a weird consolation, but at least I don't feel that it's some mistake or bad luck, but the only possible story that could have happened.
So instead of any real discussion, I just want to offer you a virtual hug from us here, and a woof from the dog.

This scene always makes me cry, partly because it is established that the character suffers from extreme emotions, and now she has to tough it out and sing this song in the hope that her son who is kidnapped in the same building and due to be killed will hear it... and she chooses this one, which I find very moving on its own.
