I have never heard of this and I'm an information packrat. What a find!

My grandfather was in a Fascist PoW camp at that exact moment, and these people were actually Nazis fleeing the consequences of their own actions, so I don't feel the same horror and sympathy I normally would for a comparable disaster that didn't involve Nazis. Which is a relief - I take these things too hard..
