I have worked my whole life to be a generalist, and I believe I have succeeded, but when I send resumés out, I reorganize each one to target the people I’m aiming at, and eliminate other data, because recruiters are stupid.

It’s particularly stupid in programming. Recruiters are interested in checking off boxes for skills that a competent programmer could literally learn in a day! I give them what they want, but I don’t respect them for it.
