I knew... someone with some supposed inside information on this. So far, everything else they said has checked out.

They told me this story. For centuries, intelligence agencies have used blackmail as one of their chief weapons, usually drugs or homosexuality.

But sometime in the 80s this stopped working, because being gay just wasn't a stigma, and if you had a drug issue you could admit it and check into rehab.

So the intelligence agencies of the world went looking for something they could get on people that would always be illegal and horrifying, and always destroy people's lives if revealed.

And it was, you see it coming, child porn and having sex with children.

This is what I was told. I would go on to surmise that once you are being paid to procure children for rich and powerful to have sex with, it isn't much of a step to doing this yourself.

To be honest, I was quite skeptical at the time, but now I believe that there are literally no depths that security agencies wouldn't plumb.
