I know from reading you that you skipped a key detail - you get accused by white people.

And from their perspective, race is not a thing! In their minds, people are white; minorities are other colors; everything's set up for them, and the whiny coloreds just have to make it about race all the time!

As you know, it's perfectly possible to teach kids the "history" of the United States without ever mentioning racism (or genocide, can't forget genocide).

Remember that Texas textbook that said, "The First Nations peoples agreed to move to different areas to make room for the new settlements"?

Being white means you never have to think about race if you don't want to. Most white people never do. "I got through great difficulties, like grade 8 algebra. These whiny minorities should shut up!"

Honestly, each day I feel a little more soulsick about the future of the world. We white people pushed everyone else out of the driver's seat, and are now gunning the motor to accelerate into the fog, where we know there is a precipice coming sooner or later.

We can't pin this one on you guys - oh, sure, some Chinese and Japanese people and a few other token non-whites are also helping out, but there are just no Black people in the room when the decisions come to kill the planet for profit. We, white men, are committing the greatest crime in history. It's like Thelma and Louise except the drivers are two rich white guys and the whole rest of the world is locked in the trunk of the car.
