I know plenty of people who live in swing states who bitterly vote Democrat at times, not with enthusiasm but because they rationally believe that the Republican is far worse. My wife and I were lucky to live in New York State so we never had to make that moral calculus.

And if Bernie had gotten the nomination, a lot of decent people would have voted for a Democrat.

Much more accurate to say, "And Democrats and Republicans" - people who actually consider themselves party members.
