The reason rich people are happier is because they don’t have to worry about their lives being destroyed by forces out of their control. The reason poor people are less happy is because they have to struggle to survive and are constantly having to weather existential threats.

I can say for sure that you have never wondered where your next meal was coming from or whether you were going to be evicted from your home because you have absolutely no consciousness of what it’s like to be poor.

Your thesis — “poor people are responsible for their own misery because they don’t do the right things in their spare time” — is elitist bullshit. Most of the unhappy poor people cannot take your fatuous, superior advice, because they are too busy trying to survive.
