I love comedy articles, and this one’s particularly funny.

The opening line alone — which can be translated as “I want more money for me!” — had me in stitches. But this line is even funnier: “there are not enough thought leaders to shape language, produce sustainable media and ensure the campaign portion of our democracy is healthy.”

“Thought leaders”. Man, the idea that someone would actually write this with a straight face!

You know, the other developed countries in the world don’t have any system like this — indeed, they uniformly have strict controls on campaign financing.

And it seems to be working out for us. We don’t periodically shut down our entire government for no reason and at great expense. While our leaders are variable in quality, not one of our countries is run by a delusional psychopath who flouts the law and cannot emit a coherent English sentence. And your country has spent $6 trillion on warfare in the last twenty years and completely failed to achieve any of its military, diplomatic, strategic, tactic or humanitarian goals — while your infrastructure is collapsing and while your healthcare is the worst in the developed world. I suspect the issue is too many “thought leaders” and not enough leaders who actually do things.

So your article is a real side-splitter, and that photo of you leaning on an American flag is the best punch line of all.

Do you have YouTube videos of your standup work?
