I love this article and gave you many claps, but I thought I was original when I thought it much the same thing in the early 80s and it turned out that Symbolics Lisp machines already existed which did many of these things.

Reading your article makes me again wonder why this didn't happen when so many people had thought of it over and over again. I don't have a good answer. It might just be that people are really good at manipulating text. It might just be bad luck.
