I sit here in Amsterdam with my jaw dropped.

Trump did nothing. He even impeded the response. He told blatant lies, and blathered incoherently about bleach and ultraviolet.

And there is still no coherent response to the virus except this tremendous push to reopen - while the cases continue to grow exponentially.

140,000 people are dead, and nearly all of them unnecessarily. Two million Americans are sick, and that number grows by 3% each day. And the economy is in collapse. Fifty million people are out of work. About half of all small businesses are destroyed, never to re-open.

I cannot conceive of how any President could possibly have done anywhere near as badly as this.

I note you were once Dutch. Great move leaving here!

Funny, I was talking to my neighbor downstairs the other day and he asked, "How can Americans be doing this to themselves?" I said, "It's mental illness, pure and simple."

Of course, you blame all criticism on (I had to look this up) "Trump Derangement Syndrome" - which is somehow affecting the burgers of the Netherlands too.

You should ask a few Dutch people in the Netherlands what they think of Pete Hoekstra. Short story - they think he's a pathological liar, because he lied repeatedly on TV, including about what he had just said, and everyone saw it.

Anyway, we'll see how this works out.

My guess is that Trump will continue to refuse to do anything on the virus except tell more blatant lies, hundreds thousands more will die, the economy will collapse, ten million people will be newly homeless, and then the election will be the worst America has ever seen as Trump tries to suppress voting by any means in a desperate attempt to avoid the consequences of his decades of tax evasion and four years of proud, blatant flouting of the law as President.
